HEADING

Experience the charm of an historic general store as a quilt shop. The Marsh Store welcomes you into the world of quilting with a wide variety of fabrics, quilting supplies, fibre art media and longarm machine quilting service. Tim, Shirley and Nellie, the store dog, started the quilting side of the business in April 2005. Since then they have developed a collection of fabrics to suit all styles of quilters: from country to ethnic (Australian, African influenced) to contemporary to nature based to fun. Walk through the door and become a friend.

When the store was built by Jacob and Louisa Marsh in 1869 it served the community of Coldstream in many ways. Over time it also included the post office, telegraph/telephone exchange, council meetings, the library, insurance office and school tours. Today we welcome groups for meetings, run classes and share the store history with anyone who drops in for a visit and look-around. Store artefacts are on display and some are still being used.

The selection of fibre art supplies continues to expand. We carry angelina, WireLaceTM, paints of several types and foils.
Customer service is important to us. Groups of more than 10 are offered 20% off and coffee or tea while they shop. We have limited space to expand so we have a sale three times a year with 30% off almost everything. Sales dates are a week in March, the week of July that includes July 24th (our property closing anniversary) and regular business days between Christmas and January 1. If we do not have something you need in stock and can order it, special orders are 25% off. We offer bolts and rolls of batting at a special price to charity quilt makers.

Look on the "What's New" page for monthly updates. New fabric, fun classes, and sales dates are a few of the important things to share.

Featured at our store are the "Among Brenda's Quilts" pattern line. Brenda, a friend from Strathroy and 'designer-in-residence', displays samples of her finished projects so you can see the original pictured on the pattern cover. Classes with Brenda are available.
